The Hellenic Open University organized the 1st Summer School on Computational Mechanics. The duration of the course was 15 days combining a mixed type of education (synchronous and asynchronous – distant and in person).

Computational Mechanics solves engineering problems using numerical methods. It is a constantly evolving field of research findings and its results have impact in science and industry and in all areas of theoretical and applied mechanics. Computational mechanics’ basic principal is the approach of engineering problems exact solution through discretization with the involved mathematical equations in space and time.

Part of the seminar was ANSYS finite element program presentation, where the students became familiar with program interface and learned its basic commands.
